This book was heartbreakingly sweet. It's about a girl who's been neglected and abused her whole life. Then she meets a boy who shows her that love is possible.
Jenna has been battered, beaten, and broken down by her terrible excuse for parents. I really felt for her. I wanted to wrap her up and hold her. As a result of this horrific treatment, Jenna is insecure, shy, and has little confidence. She has few friends, because she's been forced to care for her family. She goes to school, work, and home. When Carlos enters her world, everything changes.
Carlos knew how to handle and treat her from the beginning. He knew to take things slow with her and build her trust. I believe he helped to build her confidence and sense of security. Once he figured out what her home life was like, he tried everything he could to get her away from it. He's truly a great guy. I loved how their relationship developed.
While abuse is difficult to read about, I felt that the overall message of the book was positive. It showed a girl overcoming some pretty difficult obstacles. Jenna gained confidence, removed herself from her bad home life, and she learned how to recognize and accept love. Jenna was definitely a resilient girl. It touched my heart.
If you are looking for a sweet love story, definitely check this one out. It will tug at your heart.

Beautful and romantic!

Emerge is such a beautiful story about a girl who just goes along, never expecting things to get better in her life until she meets Carlos. A wonderful young man who falls instantly for her secret charm and beauty. Jenna has a secret though, her mother. She suffers at the hands of this awful woman who is supposed to love her. Jenna overcomes so many obstacles you can't help but root for her! Carlos is such a sweet, loving character and his love for Jenna will make you swoon and fall head over heels for him. They fight to be together but will it be enough to keep them together? I recommend you read it and find out!

honestly i do not know where to begin. This book was all kinds of amazing. You are taken on a roller coaster of emotions. Parts had me laughing and others had me crying. I was up all night reading this book and regret nothing. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!!!
